Jammu, Jan 19: A day after former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah raised objections over allowing Choudhary Lal Singh to join the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the two-time Lok Sabha member and former minister minced no words in attacking the National Conference leader for playing in the hands of the government.
Choudhary Lal Singh on Thursday accused National Conference leader Omar Abdullah of sabotaging Rahul Gandhi’s march in Jammu and Kashmir by raking up controversial issues.
“It appears that Omar Abdullah is working at the behest of the government to sabotage Bharat Jodo Yatra in J&K to please his political masters”, Choudhary Lal Singh said while reacting to the former Chief Minister’s statement.
Omar Abdullah has opposed the decision of the Congress to allow Choudhary Lal Singh to join the Bharat Jodo Yatra in J&K. He alleged that Lal Singh had supported the accused of the infamous Rasana rape and murder case.

Jammu, Jan 19: Even as the former Chief Minister and National Conference, vice-president Omar Abdullah has objected to the invitation for the Bharat Jodi Yatra to former minister and senior leader, Chowdhary Lal Singh citing “issues over Katra rape and murder”, the NC leader’s father and predecessor, had shared dais with the same Dogra leader some months ago.

Jammu, Jan 19: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governer Manoj Sinha on Thursday said that 5G network services will soon be available across the Union Territory.
President of Lava International Sunil Raina had called upon Lieutenant Governor here at the Raj Bhawan, Sinha said, "as high speed 5G networks have started to roll out, very soon we will have the services available across the UT."

Jammu, Jan 19: Nearly after more than four years, the Jammu and Kashmir administration on Thursday revoked the ban on issuance of fresh arms/gun licenses to an individual.
As per order issued by the Financial Commissioner/ Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department Raj Kumar Goyal, Jammu and Kashmir Home Department under order number No. 922 Home of 2018 dated 12.07.2018, it is hereby ordered that the restriction imposed on the District Magistrates in the UT of J&K, for issuing fresh individual Arms Licenses, is revoked with immediate effect.

Srinagar, Jan 19: Srinagar and some other parts of Kashmir valley received light snowfall amid rise in minimum temperature but still remained below freezing point on Thursday.
People in Srinagar woke up to see a thin layer of snow accumulated on the roof tops, roads and on trees much to the delight of the tourists.
Srinagar received 0.5 Cm of snowfall and 0.5 mm of rainfall, Pahalgam 3.6 cm of snowfall and 4.3 mm of rainfall, Kupwara 1.0 cm of snowfall and 3.8 mm of rainfall, and the ski resort of Gulmarg experienced 3.0 cm of snowfall and 2.9 mm of rainfall on Thursday.

Srinagar, Jan 19: The State Disaster Management Authorities (SDMA) on Thursday has issued a low danger avalanche warning for the people living 2500 to 3500 meters above sea level in seven districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement the SDMA said that avalanche with Low Danger Level is likely to occur above 2500 to 3500 meters above sea level over Ganderbal district in Central Kashmir, Bandipora and Kupwara districts in north Kashmir and Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch and Ramban districts of Jammu division in next 24 hours.
