Cong supports statehood for J&K, avoids direct reply on restoring Art 370 | Bharat Jodo Yatra | | Early Times Report
CHADWAL (Kathua), Jan 20: Although Congress supported the demand of restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, the party could not muster the guts to support the demand of bringing back Articles 370 and 35-A.
While addressing media persons in connection with the day one of the Bharat Jodo Yatra in J&K, Jairam Ramesh termed the revocation of Article 370 but avoided supporting the demand of restoring this article in J&K.
“The bill passed on August 5, 2019 in the Parliament was done without discussion, examination, and majority. It was ‘forcefully’ revoked with the brute majority” said Jairam Ramesh and tried to avoid a direct reply to the demand of restoring Article 370.

Srinagar, Jan 20: The Congress wants to take the Bharat Jodo Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, through the interiors of the Kashmir valley, but has left the decision on the route of the foot march to security agencies and the Jammu and Kashmir administration, party leader Chetan Chauhan has said here.
“We have carried out reconnaissance and submitted two routes — one through the national highway and another through the interiors of Kashmir. SRINAGAR, Jan 20: The State Disaster Management Authorities (SDMA) on Friday has issued an avalanche warning for the people living 2500 meters above sea level in ten districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement, the SDMA said an avalanche with Medium danger level is likely to occur above 2500 meters over Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, and Rambam districts of Jammu division in the next 24 hours.
