Jammu continues to bleed with 3rd terror strike in 3 weeks | | |

Jammu, Jan 21: Even as seven civilians lost lives in terror strikes on the first day of the new year in the frontier district of Rajauri, the twin blasts in Narwal on Saturday have taken the toll of terror strikes in Jammu region to three in almost three weeks.
Whereas at least seven persons were wounded in Narwal area of Jammu city on January 21, two blasts rocked the marketplace along the highway in the morning hours.
Sources close to the investigations said explosives were planted in two vehicles in the busy market place. While the first blast occurred at around 11:00 AM, the second one exploded twenty minutes later.
The attack came barely a week after Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited J&K to review security preparedness in the wake of Rajauri attack.

7 injured in Narwal twin blasts, LG Sinha condemns, announces relief | | |

Jammu, Jan 21: At least seven persons were injured in twin mysterious blasts in Transport Yard in Narwal area here on Saturday.
Two explosions took place this morning in Yard number 7 of Narwal area in East Jammu.
"Basts occured in two different vehicles. Six persons suffered injuries in the explosions," said police.
The blasts happened ahead of Republic Day celebrations and Bharat Jodo Yatra that has already entered the Jammu and Kashmir and presently halting at village Chadwal of Kathua district.

Jammu, Jan 21: After twin blasts in the Narwal area of Jammu city, security agencies are likely to launch a massive search and combing operation in the areas adjoining Narwal, Sunjwan, and Bithandi to single out sleeping cells of various terror groups.
Today’s blast was not an isolated case, earlier half a dozen terror incidents took place in the vicinity of Narwal and adjoining localities.

Srinagar, Jan 21: J&K authorities on Saturday issued avalanche warning for 10 districts of the union territory that have witnessed moderate snowfall over the past 48 hours.
The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) issued a 'medium danger' avalanche warning for central Kashmir's Ganderbal district.
Avalanche with medium danger level is likely to occur above 2500 metres over Ganderbal district in next 24 hours, SDMA said.
And avalanche with low danger level is likely to occur above 2500 metres over Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Doda, Kishtwar, Kulgam, Kupwara, Poonch and Ramban districts in next 24 hours, SDMA added.
