Jammu, Jan 23: Babus in Jammu and Kashmir have broken all the records of “copy, cut and paste.” After the breaking out of the third wave of COVID-19, the officials are repeating the same guidelines that were issued in first and the second wave of the pandemic. Only the names of J&K Chief Secretaries have changed on the order. Earlier it carried the name of B V R Submramanyam now it carries the name of Dr Arun Kumar Mehta.
It seems that the officials in J&K are unaware about the revised guidelines that have been issued vis-à-vis Omicron variant. According to the new guidelines people getting infected by the virus can resume their work after 7-days. But the guidelines issued by the J&K Government still mention 14-day isolation period. “The officials preparing the order seem to have not even read the new directions issued by the World Health Organization of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. They are following the method of copy, cut and paste in letter and spirit,” said an observer.
