JAMMU, Jan 3: A teacher from Chingi Makwal area of Billawar allegedly kidnapped and assaulted one of his former students a few days back after the latter objected to years long bonded labour, however acting upon a complaint filed by the victim, Billawar Police arrested the accused teacher.
Ravinder Singh, son of Jawant Singh resident of Chingi Makwal, a teacher posted at Government High School, Chingi Makwal, on December 31 kidnapped his former student, Vijay Kumar son of Fallo Ram of the same area, according to sources. “The teacher called up the boy for a meeting. He (Ravinder Singh) along with his at least 8 friends was heavily drunk. Vijay reached at the designated place of meeting where they forcefully dragged him in SUV vehicle (Bolero), and took the vehicle 8 kilometer away from the spot”, said Tarsem Singh, a chemist, who along with other people of the area rescued Vijay from the clutches of the teacher.

Poonch, Jan 3: People of Sathra, Mandi and Loran blocks are suffering due to dilapidated condition of Chandak to Mandi PWD road as public allege that BJP and Public Works (R&B) is allegedly backing blue eyed contractor with government’s support.
According to the sources, the work for upgradation of this road was started three years before and contractor started upgradation and quit the work in the starting of 2019 for reasons unknown.
