Jashn-e-Jamhuriya in Jammu: Cultural Academy ignores Dogri poets | | | early times report
jammu, Jan 30: Dogri poets are up in arms against the organizers of "Jashn-e-Jamhuriya" for not extending the invitation to them for the poetic festival here.
The event was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) as a part of Republic Day celebrations.
"Although the Dogri language has been given the status of an official language of J&K UT but step motherly treatment to the language is continuing. A large number of renowned poets of Urdu and Hindi languages were invited to attend the 2-day function held at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium Jammu but the Dogri poets were not included," said one of the poets.
"It would have been very beneficial for the upliftment of Dogri poetry to invite language knowing poets on such a big platform. Though Dogri language has been given status of official language then it is the duty of the government as well as the organising agencies to include poets of Dogri and other languages of the JK UT," said Gyaneshwar Sharma, a renowned Dogri poet.

Preparations underway for reopening schools in Jammu for Classes 9 to 12 | | |

jammu, Jan 30: Preparations are underway to reopen schools for classes 9 to 12 in Jammu from February 1 as directed by the Union Territory government.
"We are preparing to follow all the Standard operating procedures (SoPs) and guidelines issued by the UT government before the re-opening of the school," informed Rameshwar Mengi, the principal of a school in Jammu.
"We have urged the parents to provide the students with a sanitiser, water-bottle and tiffin-box as we won't be starting the canteen services," Mengi added.

jammu, Jan 30: The sleuths of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday arrested Deputy Director, who is in-charge Director, Regional Directorate of Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) for demanding bribe from the complainant to settle his case.
A senior CBI official here said that acting on a complaint lodged wherein it was mentioned that the in-charge Director ESIC has demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh to settle his case of outstanding dues against the security agency run by the complainant.

SRINAGAR, Jan 23: As many as 11 districts of the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported no Corona Virus in the past 24 hours even though 94 new cases of virus were reported in other nine districts. With one fresh death the death toll reached 1,929; positive cases reaching 1, 23,946.
