Jammu, Jan 30: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is facing criticism for disrespecting, and dishonouring the national flag while unfurling the Tricolour at Srinagar’s historic Lal Chowk on Sunday.
Some BJP leaders including Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar lambasted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for “violating” the flag code while unfurling the Tricolour at Srinagar’s historic Lal Chowk on Sunday.

Jammu, Jan 30: With the conclusion of the Bharat Jodo Yatra another controversy has erupted as a picture of Rahul Gandhi paying floral tributes to Pulwama martyrs by offering flowers by the left hand.

Jammu, Jan 30: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday said the aim of his Bharat Jodo Yatra was to save the liberal and secular ethos of the country which, he claimed, was facing an assault from the BJP and the RSS.
“I have not done this (Yatra) for myself or for the Congress but for the people of the country. Our aim is to stand against the ideology that wants to destroy the foundation of this country,” he said at a rally here to mark the culmination of the 136-day march.

Srinagar, Jan 30: Life in Kashmir was disrupted on the final day of the ‘Chilla-i-Kalan’, the harshest winter period in the region, today as fresh snowfall snapped the Valley’s connections with the rest of the country, affecting surface and air traffic, officials said.
Moderate to heavy snowfall was recorded in the plains of Kashmir, while the higher reaches experienced heavy to very heavy falls, they said.
The officials said Srinagar received about seven inches of fresh snowfall, Gulmarg more than a feet, Pahalgam nine inches, Gurez 1.5 feet and the plains of Kupwara district around four inches. In the upper reaches, it was around one-two feet.

Srinagar, Jan 30: In view of heavy snowfall, the authorities in Jammu and Kashmir issued an avalanche warning in ten districts of the Union Territory on Monday, officials said.
The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) in a statement said ?High Danger ‘’ level avalanches were likely to occur 2500 metres above sea level over the Doda, Kishtwar and Poonch districts of Jammu division during the next 24 hours.
