Srinagar, Jan 3: Jammu and Kashmir has been witnessing a surge in infertility cases, experts said on Wednesday.
Nearly 150 experts of Indian Fertility Society (IFS) from different parts of the country attended a national conference on “ART and Reproductive Medicine” in Gulmarg and unanimously agreed upon the fact that infertility in J&K is on rise and immediate steps need to be taken to prevent this problem from snowballing into a “big issue.”

| | 5 succumb to Covid in 24 hours | | | New Delhi, Jan 3: The Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) under the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported five deaths due to Covid in the last 24 hours in the country. A total of 511 cases of the JN.1 series variant have been reported from 11 states till January 2, 2024.

Srinagar, Jan 3: Kashmir Valley continued to reel under severe cold, with Srinagar recording a low of -4.8C and Pahalgam -6.6 C on Wednesday.
The Meteorological Centre Srinagar said the minimum temperature in Srinagar settled at -4.8 C for the second consecutive day on Wednesday. It was -2.7 C below normal for the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir during this period of the season.
Parts of Dal Lake and other water bodies froze due to the impact of the temperature in Srinagar and other parts of the valley.
