Discrimination in Covid-19 funding suffocates Jammu! | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 30: An alleged discrimination in grant of Covid19 funds for Jammu has allegedly led to the shortage of infrastructure leading to spike in the number of infected cases of the deadly virus in the winter capital region.
Official documents reveal that on June 23, 2020, the State Executive Committee (SEC) had sanctioned Rs 15 crore to boost the health infrastructure in the major hospitals in Srinagar and Jammu for combating Covid-19 pandemic.
The multi-crore funding was made under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to major health institutions for further procuring essential labs and equipment for handling the Covid-19 pandemic. The SK Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Srinagar; Government Medical College, Jammu and Srinagar were sanctioned Rs 5 crore each.
Official sources said in reality while Kashmir region was given Rs ten crores for the job, Jammu was given half of that amount.

JAMMU, Sept 30: The Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) is allegedly proving to be a cruel joke with the gullible public on the pretext of preventing COVID-19 from spreading within the community, sources said on Wednesday.

Srinagar, Sept 30: Two agriculture officers posted in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district were placed under suspension on Wednesday on the charges of running Crypto Currency business in Dubai.
“We have received a complaint from the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor’s Office against the officer in which the complainant has leveled serious charges against the officers. SRINAGAR, Sept 30: The encouraging trend of recoveries outnumbering fresh cases of Corona Virus in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir continues with 1,355 virus affected patients being discharged from different hospitals today; so far 56,872 virus affected patients have recovered.
At the same time, Jammu & Kashmir reported 975 fresh cases of COVID-19 today while as 17 more people died due to the virus in the past 24 hours. The number of positive cases in Jammu & Kashmir is 75,070 with the number of casualties being 1,181.

Leh, Sept 30: Forty-three people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Ladakh, taking the infection tally in the union territory to 4,195, while 43 more patients recovered from the disease, officials said on Wednesday.
The union territory did not report any death due to COVID-19 for the third day, the officials added.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in Ladakh stood at 1,030 -- 637 in Leh district and 393 in Kargil district, they said.
Among the fresh cases, 39 were in Leh and four in Kargil, the officials said.
Among the recoveries, 23 patients were in Leh and 20 in Kargil.
