Jammu, Oct 11: Senior Congress leaders led by J&K incharge of the party, Rajni Patil, staged a silent protest outside Raj Bhavan here on Monday against Lakhmipur incident.
It’s in place to mention here that the violence broke out at Lakhmipur in Uttar Pradesh after a car mowed four farmers. The farmers have alleged that Ashish Misra, son of Minister of State for Home in UP, Ajay Misra, was sitting inside the car that mowed four farmers. However, Ashish has refuted these allegations. Eight people, including four farmers, two BJP workers, a driver and a journalist, were killed in the violence that had erupted in the Lakhimpur district during a farmers’ protest last week.

Jammu, Oct 11: Even as seven civilians were recently killed in Kashmir in six days, the government went ahead with its series of scheduled celebrations straight weeklong.
As per the official handouts released by the government of Jammu and Kashmir, numerous celebrations went on undeterred even on the day when two teachers were shot dead in Srinagar on October 7.
As per official handouts of the Information Department, some of the celebrations went on straight for a week.

SRINAGAR, Oct 11: Encounter has started between militants and government forces in Tulran area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday.
Reports said that a joint team of Police, Army’s 34RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Tulran.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.

SRINAGAR, Oct 11: The Government Bulletin on Covid today said that seven districts; Anantnag, Budgam, Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Samba and Shopian have achieved 100% coverage of first dose Covid vaccine for the age group of above 18 years old.
The Bulletin also informs that 1,38,779 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours across the UT bringing the cumulative number of doses administered here to 13,146,342. It adds that 97.98 percent of the population above the age of 18 years has been vaccinated across Jammu and Kashmir.
