Jammu, Oct 12: The outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic has turned out to be a big money spinner for a few people in Jammu and Kashmir. Highly placed sources told Early Times that since the beginning of lockdown and establishment of COVID-19 centers, apart from the designated COVID hospitals, the complaints about substandard food being served to the patients and sanitation facilities being poor have been galore.
“Some inmates voluntarily shared videos and photographs of COVID care centres and hospitals being in shambles. Though, at that point of time nothing much could have been done but now people have started asking questions like what happened to the money which was sanctioned for these COVID-19 care centers. The grievance cells of J&K government are receiving numerous complaints. Srinagar, Oct 12: Even as former Chief Minister and the National Conference, President, Omar Abdullah has decided to leave his official accommodation by the end of this month, some of his friends accused of being “beneficiaries of the NC regime” have offered him their bungalows.

Srinagar, Oct 12: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and the Border Roads Organisation on Monday for the construction of 10 vital bridges in Jammu and Kashmir.
Singh inaugurated on Monday the bridges built in strategically key areas of Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.

Srinagar, Oct 12: The Centre has collected the second-highest Goods and Services Tax (GST) from J&K last month across the country.
For the last few weeks, a significant part of the economy has resumed operations as well as pace in the valley.
