Jammu, Oct 12: Even as the Indian Army on Tuesday held a solemn ceremony to pay rich tributes to the five fallen soldiers who laid down their lives during conduct of Counter Terrorist operation in general area Thanamandi on 11 October, the Jammu and Kashmir government hosted a multilingual Mushaira in the same district where the gunfight had taken place.

Srinagar, Oct 12: Security forces on Tuesday brought down five terrorists in Shopian alone as they gunned down two more unidentified militants in South Kashmir hours after the gunfight broke out leaving three militants dead.
The fresh gunfight broke out in Feripora area of Shopian when joint teams were conducting a cordon and search operation in the area. Jammu, Oct 12: Jammu police have arrested one Pakistani handler associated with the LeT, who was to receive the consignment of weapons air dropped on October 2 here in the city outskirts. Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh said that one Irfan Ahmed Bhat from Anantnag was arrested in the Phallian Mandal air dropping case as he was the receiver of the consignment.

Srinagar, Oct 12: A week after Baseer Khan was removed as advisor to J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Central Bureau of Investigations carried out a raid at his house in Srinagar, official sources said.
They said the raid is part of the probe into the investigation of issuance of large-scale gun licences that had been procured from the militancy-infested J&K by submitting forged documents including that of armed forces personnel. It was alleged that more than 2.78 lakh arms licences were issued to the non-entitled persons. CBI also collected documents pertaining to the issuance of said armed licences allegedly spread over 22 districts of J&K.

Srinagar, Oct 12: The Government Bulletin on Covid today highlighted that thirteen districts; Anantnag, Bandipora, Budgam, Doda, Ganderbal, Jammu, Kulgam, Poonch, Pulwama, Rajouri, Ramban, Samba and Shopian have achieved 100% coverage of first dose Covid vaccine for the age group of above 18 years old.
The Bulletin also informs that 1,18,331 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours across the UT bringing the cumulative number of doses administered here to 13,306,893.
