Displaced Persons of 1965 deprived of Occupancy Tenancy Rights | Govt becomes stumbling block in implementation of its own order | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 14: Despite showing its concern towards Displaced Persons of 1965 of Chamb for depriving them of Occupancy Tenancy Rights, the Government has failed to implement its own order even after the lapse of nearly ten years.
As per documents, the Displaced Persons of 1965 and 1971 Wars, from Chamb area of Pakistan have not been recorded as Occupancy Tenants in Evacuee Land Agrarian allotted which is in their possession in terms of Section 3-A of Agrarian Reforms Act 1976 (for short "Act of 1976).
Although as per copy of communication bearing No REV/EP/RTI/27/2011 dated 15.12.2011 issued by Deputy Secretary to Government (Public Information Officer) Revenue Department which reveals that POK displaced persons of 1965 are entitled to be declared as Occupancy Tenants under Section 3-A of the Agrarian Reforms Act, 1976, subject to the condition that the said POK displaced persons must be in cultivating possession of the Evacuee Land on the crucial date i.e. Kharif 1971.

SRINAGAR, Oct 14: National Conference (NC) MP from Anantnag constituency, Justice (R) Hasnain Masoodi in an interview to international news service played a typical separatist saying all relations with India ended on August 5 and NC has been left with no option but to chant the plebiscite slogan. The interview was carried by a section of Urdu press Sunday.

Jammu, Oct 14: A senior politician who was shown the door by the Peoples Democratic Party after his ouster from the ministry in the previous PDP led government is planning to go abroad "for a change and international lobbying."
Sources said the former PDP leader who had finally resigned from the party after having been "humiliated" has told his friends in Mumbai that he "plans to go abroad as things are not that good for him back home."

SRINAGAR, Oct 14: The people of Ladakh have been seeking protection of land and tribal status and are set to submit a memorandum to the centre.
On August 5, the Centre abrogated the Article 370 and bifurcate the state into two union territories-Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh.
There are apprehensions that people of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh may lose the jobs as they no more enjoy the special status.
