Srinagar, Oct 18: Killing of two non-local laborers in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district has now triggered exodus of Migrant Laborers from Kashmir Valley.
On Monday, hundreds of non-local laborers along with small kids and females were spotted moving towards Nowgam Railway Station in Srinagar.
The migrant laborers told the media that killing of laborers sacred them and hence decided to move out of Kashmir.
“We didn’t fear when Burhan was killed. Even we didn’t fear when Article 370 was removed as no laborer was targeted or killed but this time it is too difficult for us to stay here,” Migrant workers told ET.

Wanpoh (Kulgam), Oct 18: Wanpoh village in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district known as “Mini Bihar” is all set for desertion after the killings of Raja Reshi Dev and Jogindar Reshi Dev, both residents of Bihar on Sunday evening by the militants.
According to the sources, the gunmen had collected complete information of their targets before carrying out the killings. Both the labourers were shot dead in their rented accommodation while their other colleague, Chun Chun Reshi Das, sustained firearms injuries in the attack.

Jammu, Oct 18: Dubai has signed an accord to build infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, the government said on Monday. The memorandum of understanding by Dubai, part of the United Arab Emirates, is the first investment agreement by a foreign government in the region, following the scrapping of special status to Jammu and Kashmir and division of the state into two Union Territories.
The J&K government said the agreement will see Dubai building infrastructure including industrial parks, IT towers, multi-purpose towers, logistics centres, a medical college and a speciality hospital.

JAMMU, Oct 18: UNESCO report on the government schools in Jammu and Kashmir has picked up many holes in the prevailing education system in the Union Territory.
According to the UNESCO report 29708 schools were analyzed across J&K of which 2230 schools are run by only one teacher and among these 95% schools are in rural areas.
The report stated that 6000 schools have no road connectivity, 1632 schools have vacancies but these haven't been filled. Nearly 36% of schools don't have library facilities. Out of 29708 schools only 3500 had internet facilities. Among one lakh, seventy five thousand teachers employed in these government schools only 47% are females.
