Jammu, Oct 18: After the Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi took serious note of the episode of denying the party mandate of Satish Sharma from the Chhamb Assembly segment, the Jammu and Kashmir Congress Committee awakened from the deep slumber and constituted a panel to ascertain the reason behind party’s worst-ever defeat in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. According to an official handout issued by the party, the Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Tariq Hameed Karra, in consultation with AICC Leadership, has constituted a fact-finding high-powered committee to ascertain the reasons behind the defeat of the Party in the recent Assembly elections, in Jammu regions and to suggest measures for strengthening the party.

JAMMU, Oct 18: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Friday allocated portfolios to the newly inducted ministers in Chief Minister Omar Abdullah-led cabinet.
An order to allocate the portfolios on the advice of the Chief Minister was issued by the LG here.

Jammu, Oct 18: Hours after Omar Abdullah’s cabinet passed a resolution for the restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh dubbed the move as eyewash and said that the National Conference (NC) was mere playing to the gallery by resorting to such tactics.
