Killer of UP workers killed during ongoing raids on hideouts | | |

Jammu, Oct 19: Police on Wednesday said that a hybrid terrorist Imran Ganei arrested on Tuesday in connection with an attack on UP labourers in Shopian, was killed during a gun battle between forces and terrorists.
Imran Ganei had confessed during questioning that he had thrown a grenade on non-local workers sleeping in a rented accommodation in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the police, terrorists fired upon security forces during ongoing raids in South Kashmir’s Shopian district. During questioning, Imran Ganei disclosed some hideouts where terrorists have kept arms and ammunition.
When security forces were conducting raids on these hideouts, they were attacked by terrorists, and in the ensuing gun battle, Imran Ganei was killed.

Jammu, Oct 19: Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has upheld the order of the writ court to quash premature retirement of a JKAS officer. A division bench upheld the judgment quashing the compulsory retirement of KAS Officer Bhumesh Sharma then Program Officer ICDS Project Samba.
The DB while dismissing the appeal filed by State of J&K (now UT), observed that the term or phrase “compulsory retirement” in service law has been generally used in relation to cases where an employee has been directed that his services are no longer required before he reaches the normal age of retirement prescribed by the rules.

Srinagar, Oct 19: State Investigating Agency (SIA) Kashmir on Wednesday conducted raid on the premises of a woman, the alleged lynchpin of a narco-terror network, in Sopore area of the Baramulla district.
“In a month-long chase of elusive leads to identity the lynchpin of a dangerous narco-terror module, SIA finally zeroed on to a woman who has overseen at least Rs 10 crores worth narcotics and drugs smuggled into India from Pakistan,” a spokesman of the agency said.
During the searches at the Sopore den of the lynchpin, the SIA officers seized digital devices among other records which have a bearing on the case.

Jammu, Oct 19: Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu Amarjeet Singh Langeh today sent Dr Karnail Singh, Medical Officer of BSF on a 10 day police remand. The accused was arrested by CBI in connection with Sub Inspector paper leak scam in Jammu and Kashmir.
The accused was produced by the CBI in a court in connection with aforesaid FIR for offences under section 120-B read with Section 420 of IPC alongwith Case Diary with a prayer for grant of fifteen (15) days of police remand in respect of accused.
