Babu Raaj: Despite killings, no advisory for non-locals in Kashmir! | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Oct 20: Even as the poor non-locals have been facing “target killings” in Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has allegedly failed to issue any advisory for them on how to safeguard their lives.
While scores of non-locals have been fleeing Kashmir in the wake of spike in killings, those who are staying back have been left to “fend for themselves, atleast on the security point of view.”
The Early Times talked to several non-local laborers who are still putting back at their rented accommodations in Kashmir. Most of them told the newspaper that they have not been told anything about “any dos and don’ts by the administration.”
Asked if they have been conveyed issues like what are the “secure timings about their movement and if they should restrict their movement”, they replied in negative.
“We’ve not been contacted by anyone in the administration as to how to survive in the given circumstances than to talk of anything else,” said a skilled labor earning his livelihood as a fitter.

Jammu, Oct 20: Migrant labourers who have fled Kashmir after the recent killings in the Valley are up in arms against the J&K administration for its failure to make basic arrangements for them.
The non-locals who have reached Jammu have not been provided with any facility. “We have not been provided with food for the past three days. We just need three trains to move out from Jammu but we are not getting any response from the administration,” they said.

Jammu, Oct 20: Desperate to exit the Kashmir Valley amid targeted killings of civilians, thousands of non-local workers along with their families continue to queue up outside ticket counters of railway stations and bus stops in Jammu on Wednesday. They appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help them reach their homes safely as quickly as possible.

Jammu, Oct 20: Even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were working hard to accomplish the dream of naya Jammu and Kashmir, the alleged lack of coordination between the veteran bureaucrats and those on deputation in the Union Territory seems to be playing spoilsport.

Kulgam, Oct 20: Security Forces on Wednesday evening neutralized LeT Commander and his associate in a brief shootout in Sopat village of South Kashmir's Kulgam.

SRINAGAR, Oct 20: The Government Bulletin on COVID today informs that 78 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 12 from Jammu division and 66 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 331299. Also, one COVID death has been reported from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 80 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 10 from Jammu Division and 70 from Kashmir Division.
