An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “Mehbooba Mufti seems to have forgotten that when she was the chief minister of erstwhile J&K State, she ensured that Farooq is removed as JKCA president and her own party man takes over the reins of the Association. As the J&K chief minister, Mebpooba Mufti had blamed Farooq Abdullah of ruining the career of the cricketers from J&K and had alleged that he had looted JKCA.” It may be recalled that the then sports minister in the PDP led government Imran Raza Ansari had staged a coup against Farooq Abdullah and had shunted him out of the JKCA.
