Backed by Mehbooba, Imran Ansari ousted Farooq from JKCA | PDP president forgets past, expresses concern over NC president’s grilling by Enforcement Directorate | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Oct 21: Enforcement Directorate tightening noose around National Conference president Farooq Abdullah in connection with a multi crore scam in Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has evoked sharp reaction from PDP president Mehbooba Mufti. An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “Mehbooba Mufti seems to have forgotten that when she was the chief minister of erstwhile J&K State, she ensured that Farooq is removed as JKCA president and her own party man takes over the reins of the Association. As the J&K chief minister, Mebpooba Mufti had blamed Farooq Abdullah of ruining the career of the cricketers from J&K and had alleged that he had looted JKCA.” It may be recalled that the then sports minister in the PDP led government Imran Raza Ansari had staged a coup against Farooq Abdullah and had shunted him out of the JKCA. After Ansari took the control of the JKCA, National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party left no opportunity to taunt each other. Even some PDP leaders labeled the NC president as a “big fraud.”
