Busy in Kashmir functions, JK admin skips Poonch gunbattle! | | |

Jammu, Oct 21: Even as the administration is busy holding cultural and other activities in Kashmir, the top brass of the government has been seemingly skipping the deadly situation in Poonch where at least nine Indian Army jawans have lost their lives in the last few days.
While heavy gunfight has been going on in the area, the top brass of the government in Jammu and Kashmir has been missing from the scene and busy holding events like Jashne Dal in Kashmir. Observers said none of the senior functionaries in the government have been visiting the area.
The response of the Jammu and Kashmir government looks allegedly so callous that on the day when wreath laying ceremony of five bravehearts of the Indian Army was held in Jammu, none of the top functionaries of the JK administration attended the event.

Jammu, Oct 21: No breakthrough has so far been achieved in the ensuing gunfight in Mendhar belt of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir that has entered the eleventh day on Thursday while the security agencies have also captured one suspect from Bhimber Gali area while he was clicking pictures of vital installations of the Indian Army. “The search and cordon operation is on but still there is no major development in the ongoing gunfight in Nar Khas forested area of Mendhar,” an official said.

Srinagar, Oct 21: Even as the non locals including skilled workforce and laborers have been fleeing from Kashmir in the wake of recent “target killings”, the Jammu and Kashmir government has been allegedly unable to helm them get their wages before the “panic departure.”

Mufti took to twitter while responding to a picture showing a minor girl being frisked by a female CRPF constable in Lal Chowk area.

Srinagar, Oct 21: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was defused by bomb disposal squad on Thursday along the Baramulla Kupwara highway in north Kashmir, officials said.
The suspect object was found by the road opening party (ROP) of the Border Security Force near Saidpora village in Rafiabad.
“ The suspicious item was approximately five meters from the road. Soon after senior security officials reached the spot and a bomb disposal squad was called to check it all,” an official source said, adding the area was cordoned and the traffic on the highway was also closed." Srinagar, Oct 21: The Government Bulletin on COVID today informs that 87 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 13 from Jammu division and 74 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 331386.

Srinagar, Oct 21: Anti Corruption Bureau on Thursday said that it trapped President, Municipal Committee, Pahalgam while demanding and accepting Rs. 80,000 as bribe for release of payments for supply of garbage vehicles.
The arrest culminated following a complaint, alleging that Owais Ahmad, President Municipal Committee, Pahalgam, was demanding Rs. 80,000 as bribe for release of payments due to him for supply of Garbage Vehicles (Two Hopper Tipper Dumpers), ACB said in a statement.
