SFA under scanner for PDP-regime scam | | |

Jammu, Oct 22: The State Football Academy has come under the scanner of the authorities for allegations of a multi-crore scam during the previous regime, while the Jammu and Kashmir government is set to order a high level probe.
Sources said the government has received credible inputs that the SFA, since its inception during the Peoples Democratic Party led government, was being “misused to benefit some quarters close to a shady coterie.”
Sources said while the “very inception of the SFA was under the scanner of the authorities” what has come to fore is that crores of rupees have been misappropriately used to benefit some quarters close to the previous regime.
Sources said in brazen violation of service conduct rules, some of the government employees posted at the SCFA were drawing salary and other benefits from multiple quarters.
In one such case, the official documents reveal that a brother duo from Srinagar “grabbed millions from the SFA in violation of norms.”

New Delhi, Oct 22: The Centre has issued an advisory asking Union ministries, state governments and union territory administrations not to enter into any broadcasting or distribution of broadcasting activities directly.
In the advisory, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting asked those broadcasting their content to route it through Prasar Bharati. It also asked entities distributing the broadcasting content to "extract themselves" from it by December 31, 2023.
The advisory is likely to impact Kalvi TV, an educational channel launched by the Tamil Nadu government which is available on some DTH platforms, and IPTV, launched by the Andhra Pradesh government.

Ramban, Oct 22: Security forces on Saturday busted a hideout and recovered ammunition and explosives in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban district, officials said. Acting on specific information about the presence of arms and ammunition in a remote forested area in Khari tehsil of Ramban, the police and the Army launched a joint search operation there, they said. A militant hideout was unearthed and ammunition and explosive material were recovered, the officials said.
The recoveries included 310 AK-47 rounds, 30 9mm rounds, one 9mm magazine, six AK rifle magazines, one grenade, one tape recorder, one handset with antenna and two cassettes, they said.
