J&K emerging as top investment destination across Country | | |

SRINAGAR, Oct 23: The investment projects worth Rs 10,000 crore are under execution in Jammu and Kashmir and proposals of around Rs 60,000 crore are being processed which reflects the successful campaign of J&K Government to attract investors to Jammu and Kashmir.
In Naya J&K, the investment ecosystem has changed a lot after abrogation of Article 370 and thousands of budding entrepreneurs are setting up their own units and are emerging as role models.
The days of struggle for entrepreneurs are over and youngsters who desire to establish their own ventures are handholded by Government through various schemes and provided all possible assistance to chase their dreams.
New industrial estates are coming up and during the past two years, more than 3,300 applications have been approved with Letter of Intent issued in favour of 1,879 applicants besides lease deeds have been executed in favour of 260 applicants. New Delhi, Oct 23: Ayurveda is India's ancient tradition and wealth and it can be nurtured in association with the people living in forests, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda said on Sunday.
He was speaking at the 7th Ayurveda Day event at the Vigyan Bhawan which saw participation of several dignitaries and experts.
On the occasion, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Ayush and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to explore the areas of collaboration, convergence and synergy for tribal development while preserving the tribal culture heritage through evidence-based planning and capacity building.

New Delhi, Oct 23: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated ISRO, NewSpace India Ltd (NSIL) and IN-SPACe after the Indian space agency's heaviest rocket on its maiden commercial mission successfully placed 36 broadband communication satellites of a UK-based customer into the intended orbits.

New Delhi, Oct 23: The Indian Army on Sunday paid tribute to Havaldar Darpan Pradhan who made the supreme sacrifice on October 21 while deployed on the Siachen Glacier.
Earlier in August, the Northern Command of the Indian Army recovered the mortal remains of a soldier after 38 years, who went missing during ‘Operation Meghdoot’ in 1984.
‘Operation Meghdoot’, the code-name for an Indian armed forces operation, was launched 38 years ago on April 13.

| | Police seize 21 kg of Heroin from truck on Jammu-Srinagar highway | | |

Jammu, Oct 23: Police detained a truck driver on Sunday after heroin weighing more than 21 kg was seized from his vehicle on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur.
"During the checking of vehicles at Zero Point on the highway at Chenani, a truck coming from Kashmir and driven by Kulwinder Singh of Punjab's Nawanshahr was intercepted," Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Mukesh Singh said.
On a search of the vehicle, 18 packets of heroin, weighing around 21.5 kg, were seized, he added.
The seized contraband is worth crores of rupees in the international market, the officer said.
