Jammu, Oct 26: Two-day after a report in the Early Times, three prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders from Jammu province resigned from the party against the irresponsible statement of Mehbooba Mufti.
Former Rajya Sabha member, Trilok Singh Bajwa, ex-MLC Ved Mahajan and Gujjar leader of the party, Hussain Ali Bafa wrote a letter to party president Mehbooba Mufti in which there cited many reasons to quit the party.
Bajwa and Mahajan are founder members of the PDP while as Wafa is prominent face of the party in Jammu region.

JAMMU, Oct 26: After the School Education Department issued new directions to avail scholarships, the students particularly those of the government schools as well as their parents belonging to poor families got into a tizzy as around eleven documents have been sought by the department to be eligible for the benefit.

Jammu, Oct 26: The National Conference (NC) on Monday distanced itself from PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti’s controversial remark on the national flag.
Addressing the media on Friday, former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti had said that she will not hoist the Indian tricolour till Jammu and Kashmir's special status and separate flag are restored.
The NC and PDP are part of the newly-formed People’s Alliance for the Gupkar Declaration, a forum to push for the restoration of J&K’s special status and statehood.

Srinagar, Oct 26: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged as the leading party winning the highest number of seats in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) polls held for the first time after the region was carved as a Union territory on August 5 last year.
The ruling party at the Centre won 15 seats in the polls held for 24 seats in which 94 candidates were in the fray. The Congress managed to emerge victorious in nine seats while two seats were won by independent candidates.
