Srinagar, Oct 4: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Srinagar on Tuesday as part of his three-day tour to the Union territory, officials said.
They said Shah arrived at the Srinagar airport from the Jammu region at around 7 pm.
The Union Home Minister would launch and inaugurate projects worth Rs 1939.42 crore in Kashmir region today.
According to the officials in Kashmir he would launch the projects under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, National Rural Livelihood Mission (UMEED)/SHGs, Swachh Bharat Mission, activities under Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan. He would activate Drug De-Addiction Centers and release J&K SDG Report―2022.

Jammu, Oct 4: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said 42,000 people lost their lives to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir over the years but security situation has improved now to such an extent that no one dares to call a hartal or indulge in stone-pelting. Shah also said the Modi government wants to end terrorism, corruption, bring all-round development and make Jammu and Kashmir number one in the country.
A zero tolerance policy has been adopted towards terrorism, ensuring complete control of the security forces over the situation, he said, while inaugurating or laying foundation stones of development projects here.

Jammu, Oct 4: Seeking to allay apprehensions of the nomadic Gujjars and Bakerwals, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday announced that the Pahari-speaking people of Jammu and Kashmir will get Scheduled Tribe (ST) status but not at the cost of existing scheduled tribes of the Union Territory.
While addressing an impressive public rally at the border town of Rajouri, the Union Minister assured like Gujjar and Bakerwals, Paharis will also get ST status as it was the long pending demand of this community.

Jammu, Oct 4: Union Home Minister, Amit Shah on Tuesday recalled the contributions of Praja Parishad and Jan Sangh leaders for the complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the Indian Union.
Speaking at a function in Jammu on Tuesday evening, Union Home Minister recalled the Ek Vidhan, Ek Pradhan, and Ek Nishan agitation launched by Praja Parishad leader Pandit Prem Nath Dogra in the early 1950s for total integration of J&K with the Indian Union.

New Delhi, Oct 4: IAF Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari on Tuesday said that the Indian Army will be communicating with China over the issue of any air space violation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
Speaking at a press conference on the upcoming 90th Air Force Celebration Day, he said, “We will use the Indian Army hotline to communicate with the Chinese in case of any air space violation or other issues.”
“Disengagement has taken place in areas along the LAC. We are keeping an eye on Chinese Air Force activities. We have increased the presence of radars and air defence networks. Appropriate non-escalator measures have been taken in time,” added Chaudhari.
