Facing pressure in Kashmir terrorists shift focus on Jammu | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 8: As security forces have launched a massive offensive against terrorists in Kashmir Valley, Pakistan-based terror mentors have shifted focus in the peaceful Jammu region.
During the last one year, alert cops of the Jammu and Kashmir Police have busted half a dozen terror modules besides smashing over a dozen narco-terrorism gangs.
Highly placed sources said that Pakistan-based terror mentors were trying to revive terrorism in Poonch, Rajouri, Doda, Kishtwar, and Reasi districts by luring some surrendered terrorists to rejoin terror ranks and file. Similarly in Jammu, Udhampur, and Kathua districts, terrorists were trying to strike but they failed due to the alertness of the forces.

Jammu, Oct 8: Three each Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and sticky bombs, part of a consignment dropped by drones from across the border, were recovered on Saturday in Kathua, a senior police officer said. The recovery was made on the disclosure of a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist, who was arrested from Kathua on October 2, Additional Director General of Police, Jammu zone, Mukesh Singh said. Srinagar, Oct 8: The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday carried out searches at two places in the city on Saturday in connection with terror cases.
The raids were carried out ''to dismantle and disturb the nexus between terrorists and their associates'', a police official said.
"The SIU in its continuous investigation in different ULPA cases, after Pampore and Kulgam, conducted searches in the suspected houses at Sheeraz Colony Ganie Near Ration Ghat Soura and Shalbaf Mohalla New Colony Jinab Sahab Anchar Soura," the official said.

Jammu, Oct 8: Five days after the completion of his tenure as Governor of Meghalaya, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has sought evidence from Satya Pal Malik in connection with graft cases registered in Jammu and Kashmir based on allegations levelled by him.
On April 21, the CBI has registered two cases on a reference from the Jammu and Kashmir government following corruption charges made by former Governor Satya Pal Malik to probe alleged malpractices in the award of two contracts related to civil works worth about Rs 2,200 crore and a group health insurance scheme.
