MHA convenes fresh meeting on Kashmir killings | | |

Jammu, Nov 10: In the wake of fresh killings by militants in Kashmir, the Union Home Ministry chaired a high-level meeting to review the evolving situation.
Sources said on November 10 on the instructions of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah a high level meeting was held in the national capital. Shah, who recently visited Jammu and Kashmir is understood to have taken a “serious note of the uneasy situation.”
Sources said some of the officials from Kashmir attended the meeting online.
Sources said the meeting that lasted for around two hours discussed that that how come two persons got killed within 24 hours in Kashmir and that if there were possible chances of lapse on the part of the security forces.
It was reliably learnt that New Delhi sought “precise reasons” behind the killings in Kashmir.
The sources said the officials from Kashmir told the Home ministry that a “group of particular militants were responsible for the killings.”

Srinagar, Nov 10: Kashmiri Pandit businessman Sandeep Mawa, whose salesman was killed in a terrorist attack believed to be aimed at him, on Wednesday said he will not leave Kashmir and remain here despite opposition from his family.
Mr Mawa also claimed that he escaped the attack as he left his shop early due to a prior intelligence input, but his salesman Mohammad Ibrahim Khan was shot dead near his shop in Bohri Kadal area of the city on Monday.
He said he was not deterred and will continue to stay in Kashmir Valley.

Jammu, Nov 10: Within hours after issuing a ‘controversial’ notice issued by the District Social Welfare Officer Anantnag to 26 Kashmiri Pandit employees regarding “unauthorized absence”, the higher-ups in the department expressed their ignorance about issuing any such order.

SRINAGAR, Nov 10: The Government today informed that 165 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 18 from Jammu division and 147 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 333490.Also, 03 Covid deaths have been reported; 01 from Jammu Division and 02 from Kashmir Division.

JAMMU, Nov 10: A suspended policeman and his former colleague, who were wanted in connection with last week’s shooting incident in the outskirts of Jammu, were arrested from Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, a police officer said. Three people, including a history-sheeter and his brother, were killed and another critically injured in a shooting incident following a brawl over some issue in Salehar village of Arnia in R S Pura on Friday.
