Another cruel joke: Jammu’s private hospital refuses to provide treatment under ‘Ayushman Card’ | Like other welfare schemes, Ayushman Bharat scheme also appears only on papers | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 12: Very much like other schemes which are working only on papers and in government advertisements, the much-touted ‘Ayushman Bharat scheme’ is also proved to be a cruel joke with the residents of Jammu and Kashmir as private hospitals are not admitting patients on this card.
The helpless patients have to pay hefty charges on treatment in these hospitals.
Family members of Naresh Kapoor, a resident of Gandhi Nagar, rushed him to Narayana Hospital Kakriyal Reasi for treatment on November 5 when his platelet counts came down to 30,000. Kapoor was suffering from a high fever.
As the whole Kapoor family has ‘Ayushman Bharat’ cards they approached this private hospital with the hope that Naresh Kapoor will get treatment on this much-touted.
“The hospital administration refused to entertain the card and gave an excuse that there is ‘three days waiting’ for Ayushman Bharat card”, one of the family members of Naresh Kapoor told the Early Times. Srinagar, Nov 12: The terrorist who was killed in a brief gunfight in Bemina area of Srinagar on Thursday evening was tasked to carry out a fidayeen attack, police said on Friday.
Police said Aamir Riyaz of Khrew Pulwama who was affiliated with 'Mujahideen Gazwatul Hind' was killed at Bemina, Srinagar in an encounter on Thursday evening. An AK rifle along with ammunition was recovered from the encounter site, they said.
Police said Riyaz was a relative of one of the accused of 2019 Lethpora suicide bombing. The attack had left 40 CRPF personnel dead and brought India and Pakistan at the brink of war.

Srinagar, Nov 12: Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a “Hybrid” militant and recovered a hand grenade from his possession in Central Kashmir district of Ganderbal.
Police said, a person identified as Arshad Ahmad Mir a resident of Sehpora Ganderbal moving in a suspicious manner came to near the Military Vehicle Camouflaged Pattern (MVCP) which was established by the Police near Khann in the area.
They said the individual was challenged who instead of complying with the signs and command, tried to escape. He was overpowered and apprehended on the spot, the police said.

Jammu, Nov 12: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday arrested two more persons were arrested in connection with a terrorism conspiracy case.
The arrested persons have been identified as Rashid Muzaffar Ganaie resident of Sopore and Nasir Mir resident of Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore area. They were arrested in connection with a case number RC-29/2021/NIA/DLI.

Jammu, Nov 12: The National Highway and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) has out rightly refuted the claims of contractor and said that the firm failed to carry out technical tests of the existing abutment of Bidhar Bridge in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
