DODA, Nov 15: At least 38 people were killed and 20 injured when a bus carrying passengers skidded off the road and rolled down into a 300-foot gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Wednesday, officials said.
The bus bearing registration number JK02CN-6555 was reportedly carrying 56 passengers, they said, adding that it skidded off the road near Trungal-Assar on the Batote-Kishtwar national highway and fell 300 feet downhill.
A rescue operation has been launched and some bodies have been retrieved, the officials said. The death toll is likely to go up.

New Delhi, Nov 15: Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed condolences on Wednesday for the lives lost in a tragic bus accident in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Srinagar, Nov 15: Two terrorists were killed on Wednesday as security forces foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of Baramulla district, Army said.
They said the bid was foiled by joint forces of Army and Police in the Uri sector.
“In a Joint Operation launched by #IndianArmy & @JmuKmrPolice, an infiltration bid has been foiled today by alert troops along #LOC in Uri Sector, #Baramulla.
