Cong dumps Art 370, NC says no one can misinterpret special status resolution | NC lacks transparency on critical issue, says Sajad Lone | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 15: All India Congress Committee President Mallikarjun Kharge and J&K Congress Chief Tariq Hameed Karra’s remarks that the demand for restoration of Article 370 was not raised in the resolution passed by the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly has triggered a debate.
Soon after Kharge and Karra declared that “Article 370 is a closed chapter,” National Conference Member Parliament Aga Ruhullah Mehdi took to X and wrote: “No INC president or JKPCC president has a right to misinterpret the resolution passed by the J&K Legislative Assembly in the last session. The purpose of that resolution is to express the people’s disapproval of all the amendments and unconstitutional abrogation of the guaranteed (Special) Status of J&K from the year 1953 to 2019.”
Pertinently, the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly last week in its first session, passed a resolution on special status, seeking a “dialogue” with the J&K’s elected representatives for restoration of the same as well as constitutional guarantees.

| | India to clock 7.2% growth in 2024: Moody’s | | | New Delhi, Nov 15: Moody’s Ratings on Friday forecast a 7.2 per cent GDP growth for India in 2024, saying the Indian economy is in a sweet spot, but inflation risks may prompt the RBI to retain a relatively tight monetary policy this year.
Moody’s said that despite the near-term uptick, retail inflation should moderate toward the Reserve Bank’s target in the coming months as food prices ease amid higher sowing and adequate food grain buffer stocks.
The retail inflation scaled to a 14-month high of 6.21, breaching the RBI’s upper tolerance limit, on a sharp jump in vegetable prices.
