srinagar, Nov 18: For the last three and half years the authorities of University of Kashmir are sitting over the selection process of some of the key positions at the varsity. The non-fulfillment of the posts has resulted into total mess at the university campus.
Sources told Early Times that around a dozen important positions are vacant at the University of Kashmir since 2015. The people managing the affairs at the varsity seem to be non-serious in fulfilling these positions and the same is depicted by the fact that no worthwhile headway has been made in this regard over the past three and half years.

Sources in the department informed Early Times that former ISM director, vide order No. DG-ISM/4082-87, dated October 17, 2014, had neglected eligible candidates and promoted a 'blue-eyed' candidate as Deputy Director, ISM, Kashmir even the officer was not eligible for the post.

SRINAGAR, Nov 18: After taking a year for completion of its works, the Shri Pratap Singh Library inaugurated last month still lacks the basic facilities.
The SPS Library which was established in the year 1898, hosts a collection of books in English, Urdu, Arabic, Persian, Sanskrit, Kashmiri, Hindi and Punjabi languages.
The oldest library of Kashmir has a collection of 74 Manuscripts in Persian, Sanskrit, Arabic and Urdu. This library has a collection of more than one lakh and fifty thousand books. The government started the work a decade ago on construction of the new building. However, it still lacks many facilities despite spending crores of rupees.
