Jammu, Nov 21: The environment as well as eco-system of Jammu and Kashmir is under serious threat as the extraction of minerals from 208 out of total 224 minor mineral blocks, has been going on without any environmental clearance as well as without any mining plan.
These startling revelations came to fore in a communiqué forwarded by Jammu and Kashmir State Pollution Control Board (JKSPCB) to the Director Geology and Mining Department Jammu vide communiqué number SPCBNGT/60/019/134-37 dated 12/11/2019. The letter was forwarded by SPCB to G&MD in response to their DGC/s response number 427/MCC/DGM/NGT/19/2096-97 dated 21/10/2019.
The communiqué has pointed towards grave violations of environmental norms in mining of minerals as out of total 554 minor mineral blocks, no block is fully complaint with the laws government environmental protection on one count or the other as none is consented by SPCB while as only 15 minor mineral blocks have environmental clearance.

Srinagar, Nov 21: A close relative of the former Chief Minister, late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed is likely to sell his residential house in Anantnag district of south Kashmir.
Sources said the man in question, who is also cousin of former Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti has been approached by some property dealers in the last around two months.
"What we could feel from the activities at his residence is that he is no more interested to retain the family house but wants to sell it for some reasons better known to him," said a source in the know of the matter.

Jammu, Nov 21: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) probing the killing of Parihar brothers viz BJP State Secretary Anil Parihar and his brother Ajeet Parihar on November 1 last year finally got the custody of the three Hizb militants from Jammu court.
On the bases of the court order, the jail authorities at Jammu handed over the physical custody of the three to NIA so that they could further proceed in the case.

Jammu, Nov 21: In the interest of administration, the Government of J&K Union Territory (JKUT) has ordered few transfers and postings in the administration with immediate effect.
Jagdish Singh, KAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), RS Pura, is transferred and posted as Deputy Secretary in the Lieutenant Governor's Secretariat while Ram Lal Sharma, on his placement to the Time Scale of KAS, presently posted as Tehsildar (Consolidation), Jammu, is transferred and posted as SDM RS Pura in Singh's place.

srinagar, Nov 21: Continuing its crackdown on terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday (November 21) took possession of attached properties of the Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terrorists in a terror funding case. These properties worth Rs.1.22 crores belong to seven HM terrorists and are located in Anantnag, Baramulla and Bandipora districts of Kashmir.
The terrorists whose properties have been seized are identified as Mohammad Shafi Shah, Talib Lali, GulamNabi Khan, Zaffar Hussain Bhat, Abdul Majeed Sofi, Nazir Ahmad Dar and Manzoor Ahmad Dar.
