Kashmir's languishing projects get Rs 400 Cr, Jammu nothing | Jammuites seek LG's intervention | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 22: With no end to apparent pampering of Kashmir province, which bats for separatist sentiment, in the latest, the government has approved a whopping Rs 399 crores for completion of languishing projects in the restive valley. The delay of similar project executions in Jammu, however, doesn't seem to be government's priority.
Official sources told Early Times that the administration in Kashmir recently held a "special meeting" to review developmental projects and sought details of the languishing projects.
Sources said the meeting was informed that around 100 projects are languishing in Kashmir valley. Sources said major chunk of languishing projects reported from the Industries Department with over 15 projects wanting Rs 113 crore for completion while the money was sanctioned on the spot.
Likewise in the Youth Services and Sports Department Rs 40 crores were granted for completion of 23 pending projects. Official sources added that for the 17 projects pending in PHE, Rs 70 odd crore were granted.

Jammu, Nov 22: Detained Kashmir-centric leaders, who were recently shifted from posh Centaur Hotel to MLA Hostel in Srinagar are reportedly unhappy with the facilities being provided to them.
Relatives of VIP netas, who met them for the first time after these leaders were shifted from the Centaur Hotel raised hue and cry about their kith and kin not having proper facilities.

Jammu, Nov 22: A poor teenager boy, who had purchased a smart phone worth Rs. 20,000 on instalments but was confiscated by police in district Kathua nearly a fortnight back but so far the boy has not got his phone, despite summoning him regularly to police station and then refuse to give him the same.
The poor boy has been mentally as well as physically harassed by the police as he has to miss the customers in his small kiosk while the phone, which he had purchased on instalments, is reported being used by someone else from the police department.

srinagar, Nov 22: The drawing and disbursing officers will face the action if they are found in delaying release of salaries to government employees in Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir administration has taken a serious note over delaying in release of salaries to government employees by the concerned officials.
There are at present 4.50 lakh state government employees, and 1.60 lakh pensioners in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Finance Department has told the administrative secretaries of departments to ensure that all the DDOs under their control shall present salary bills on designated day as per rules.
