Kotranka (Rajouri), Nov 22: Huge heaps of garbage lying unchecked on roads at Kotranka is a slur on the authorities that leave no opportunity to claim that they are committed to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.
It may be recalled that on October 2 this year all departments, PRIs, leaders and others held programmes on cleanliness and released photographs and video clips of these events. The vowed to carry forward the Swach Bharat Mission launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in letter and spirit.
Kotranka is a beautiful place, surrounded by lofty mountains and fit to become a desired tourist destination, but the garbage heaps are a big slur on its beauty. Due to this issue, other allied benefits of tourism can never reach the general public.

Poonch, Nov 22: Revenue records have gone missing in Poonch and the authorities are far from putting these online, sources told Early Times on Monday.
They alleged that a few officials in the Revenue Department are responsible for these records going missing and the government should order a probe to ascertain where the things have gone wrong. “The black sheep in the department need to be identified and brought to book,” sources added.

New Delhi, Nov 22: Ahead of the winter session of Parliament, the government has called an all-party meeting on Sunday, which is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sources said on Monday.
The floor leaders of all the political parties from both houses of Parliament have been invited to the meeting, they added.

Srinagar, Nov 22: Jammu and Kashmir on Monday recorded 160 fresh COVID-19 cases that took its infection tally to 3,35,528, while one more fatality pushed the death toll to 4,462, officials said.
Of the fresh cases, 32 were reported from the Jammu division and 128 from the Kashmir division of the union territory, they said.
Srinagar district recorded the highest number of fresh cases at 59, followed by 38 in Baramulla. There are 1,665 active COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir. So far, 3,29,401 patients have recovered from the disease, the officials said.

Jammu, Nov 22: After directions of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), the Jammu and Kashmir government has released an amount worth Rs 36 lakh for families of 12 infants who died after taking spurious drugs in the Ramnagar area of Udhampur district.
12 children of the remotest area of Udhampur lost their lives after consuming spurious drugs between December 2019 and January 2020. Now the J&K government has released Rs 3 lakh each for the 12 bereaved families.
