Govt offers facilities for graveyards, crematoriums in Srinagar, forgets Jammu! | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 26: In a major initiative, the Jammu and Kashmir government has started a program to offer upgradation of civic and infrastructural facilities at graveyards and cremation grounds in the summer capital of Srinagar whereas no such plan seems to be in place for Jammu, the city apparently neglected for decades.
Official documents reveal that the Srinagar Municipal Corporation is offering upgradation of civic facilities at the graveyards and cremation grounds in the city. The civic body has come up with public notification asking the managing committees of all the graveyards and cremation grounds in Srinagar city to seek free of cost installation of infrastructure like streetlights, fencing, sunshades and cremation sheds as and where required by people belonging to various communities.
The management committees of the graveyards and the cremation grounds have been asked to approach the concerned offices including that of Ward Officers to file their applications in prescribed formats for deliverance of the facilities.
