Srinagar, Nov 6: After a spike in the civilian killings in restive Kashmir in October, the four-day visit of the Home Minister Amit Shah has brought a perceptible improvement in the situation.
Sources said the series of security related meetings that were chaired by Shah himself in Kashmir during the visit to the union Territory have started to bear fruit as no untoward incident of civilian killing was reported from the valley since he left.
It was reliably learnt that Shah chaired atleast three security related meetings in Kashmir while similar events were held in Jammu as well.

Poonch, Nov 6: The public toilet at tehsil complex in Mendhar sub division of Poonch district has been kept locked for the last several months.
Local residents told Early Times that the administration and Rural Development Department (RDD) locked the toilet without assigning any reasons. “Hundreds of people, including women, visit this office daily. Jammu, Nov 6: Two terrorists are believed to have been trapped in a Cordon and Search Operation launched by the Army jointly with other security agencies in Thannamandi area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, sources said here on Saturday.
Official sources said that a team of security forces had launched CASO late last night in Thannamandi and adjoining villages of the district.
"Though there is no official confirmation from the Army, but two terrorists are believed to be trapped in the operation," sources said. They said the traffic has also been suspended from Thanamandi to Rajouri due to the ongoing CASO.

Jammu, Nov 6: Worries ahead for authorities as Srinagar-the summer capital of the Union Territory (UT) of J&K, is emerging as a hotspot with a spike in positive cases.
In the last 24 hours, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir recorded 151 fresh COVID-19 positive cases out of which 79 cases were reported alone from Srinagar district.
On Friday the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir had recorded 109 fresh COVID-19 positive cases out of which 64 cases were reported alone from Srinagar district. On Thursday J&K recorded 99 COVID positive cases and 48 cases were tested positive from Srinagar district alone.

SRINAGAR, Nov 6: The Government today informed that 151 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 16 from Jammu division and 135 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 332911.
Moreover, 69 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 16from Jammu Division and 53 from Kashmir Division.
