PDP leader ‘annoyed’ over providing facilities to Amarnath pilgrims | | |

Jammu, Nov 6: While devotees of Lord Shiva across the world are elated over the starting of work to widen the Amarnath Yatra routes from Pahalgam and Sonamarg, the general secretary of the youth wing of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) is unhappy with the providing facilities to the pilgrims.
The PDP youth wing general secretary and spokesperson of the party raised ecological concerns to oppose the construction of the roads to ensure interruption-free pilgrimage in case of hostile weather conditions.
Taking to social media, People's Democratic Party Spokesperson and Youth General Secretary Mohit Bhan , condemned the recent developments, stating, “This is not history; it's the biggest crime one can commit to Hinduism & its faith in nature. Hinduism is all about immersing in spiritual mother nature; that's why our pilgrimages are in the lap of the Himalayas. Srinagar, Nov 6: Border Roads personnel have created a history with the first set of vehicles recently reaching the holy Amarnath cave.
The Border Roads Organization (BRO), tasked with the road widening work on the Amarnath cave routes, announced the completion of the formidable task.
“Project Beacon is involved in the restoration and improvement of Amarnath Yatra tracks. Border Roads personnel completed the formidable task and created history with the first set of vehicles reaching the holy cave,” BRO announced in a post on X.

JAMMU, Nov 6: Three people were killed and 16 others injured when a vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident in Rajouri district, officials said on Monday.
They said Tempo vehicle (JKO2AB-5535) met with an accident by skidding off the road and fell into gorge at Farwaala Nagrota area in the mountainous district, resulting in death of three people and injuries to 13 others.
The accident occurred at 1100 hours and the vehicle was travelling from Budhal towards Rajouri met with accident when the driver lost control over the vehicle and rolled down 300 feet into a gorge .

SRINAGAR, Nov 6: Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Monday predicted light rain over plains and light snowfall over the higher reaches on Wednesday and Thursday in Jammu and Kashmir .
MeT office said that the weather will remain cloudy but dry on November 8 but during the late evening there is a possibility of light snowfall at a few places over the higher catchments of Jammu and Kashmir.

JAMMU, Nov 6: The Border Security Force on Monday detected and defused a mortar shell in an agriculture field along the International Border in Jammu’s Arnia, officials said.
Acting on the information of locals, BSF troops rushed to the Arnia sector, recovered the mortar shell and later successfully defused it in the fields, they said.
With this, they averted a major tragedy in the area, officials said, adding that the shell was fired by Pakistan rangers during a recent ceasefire violation.
