Colony developed on Defence Land in Sunjwan | Land mafia does not spare even Army | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 10: Notorious land mafia of Jammu has not even spared the Army and blame it on the alleged nexus between land mafia and the revenue officials, an illegal colony came up on Defence land measuring atleast 800 kanal of land just outside the military station Sunjwan.
However, a whistleblower, seeking high level enquiry into alleged encroachment has knocked door of Governor administration.
RTI activist, Mohd Sadiq Poswal informed that atleast 800 out of 4400 Kanal given to Army in Sunjwan, has been encroached decades back, and unfortunately, the Revenue Department has no exact record of said land.

Srinagar, Dec 10: The Income Tax Department has been collecting around Rs 1300 crore annually in the state.
According to Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) data, Rs 1302 crore have been recovered by the Income Tax Department from assesses during the financial year 2017-18.
The direct tax collection has increased from Rs 711 crore in 2010-11 to last year's Rs 1302, registering increase of 95 percent, the data reveals. During 2016-2017, Rs 1091 crore tax collection was recorded in the state.
