Ahead of Bharat Jodo Yatra's Jammu & Kashmir leg, security reviewed | | | early times report
Jammu, Dec 11: As the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra is scheduled to reach Jammu and Kashmir next month, a senior police officer on Sunday reviewed the overall security situation in Kathua - the gateway district to the Union Territory bordering Punjab - an official said.
Senior Superintendent of Police of Kathua RC Kotwal, who chaired the meeting at the district police lines, directed officers to strengthen the border security grid and enhance patrolling to rule out any subversive activities.
Mr Gandhi is going to spend eight days in Jammu and Kashmir - four days each in Jammu and Kashmir Valley - after reaching Lakhanpur in the third week of January.

Jammu, Dec 10: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Saturday bulldozed the residence of the self-styled commander of the proscribed terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad Ashiq Nengroo in south Kahsmir’s Pulwama district.
The administration demolished a double-storey house at New Colony in Rajpura, Pulwama in the presence of police.

Aligarh, Dec 10: A case has been lodged after a Kashmiri student of class 10th of Raja Mahendra Pratap City High School of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) went missing after leaving the campus, police sources said here on Saturday.
Police sources said that Masroor Abbas, a resident of Sopore city in Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir, was a high school student and lived with his cousin Enayat Abbas Mallik in Nadeem Tarin Hall.

Srinagar, Dec 10: The National Investigation Agency has put up posters in many parts of Kashmir seeking information about four militants of The Resistance Front (TRF), a front organisation of the proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, officials said on Saturday.
The four militants, including two Pakistani nationals, are wanted by the NIA in connection with a conspiracy to radicalise, motivate and recruit youths of Jammu and Kashmir to carry out violence in India. Jammu, Dec 10: The Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has directed Registrar General of High Court to decide and notify the seniority of Selection Grade District Judges in tune with rules and application of J&K Higher Judicial Service Rules, 2009 and as settled by the Supreme Court.
The High Court further directed that the decision for notifying the seniority shall be taken expeditiously, not later than two months and while deciding and finalizing the seniority, the affected parties, if any, shall also be heard.
