Centre’s cautious stand: No rush for J&K statehood | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 10: Even as leaders of the ruling National Conference are confident that statehood will be restored very soon, the Union Government is not in a hurry to fulfill this demand of some political parties. Highly placed sources said that before taking the decision to restore statehood to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Government will review all pros and cons.
“Restoration of statehood is near future is not possible the Union Government will review actions and functioning of the National Conference government in Jammu and Kashmir”, sources said and added that the Union Government has not rejected the demand of the statehood but the decision in this regard would be taken by taking all stakeholders on the board.

Jammu, Dec 10: Nearly 4.5 lakh persons between the age group of 18 to 75 years are addicted to Opioid drugs in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This is 5.05 percent of the total population of this group.

Jammu, Dec 10: Omar Abdullah Government on Tuesday formally issued an official order to constitute a Cabinet Sub-Committee to review the reservation in the Union Territory.
