Whopping Rs 390 crores of state exchequer wasted on incomplete projects in JK | When public purse was drained with impunity | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 13: The Jammu and Kashmir government has spent more than a whooping Rs. 390 crores out of the state exchequer on incomplete projects in the erstwhile state; thanks to the inefficacy and dilatory mode of working of those at the helm here.
As per the official documents in possession of the Early Times, a total expenditure of Rs. 393 crore was incurred up to the year 2016-17 by the State Government on various incomplete projects costing more one crore which have been taken up by the Water Works Department, Public Works Department and Public Health & Engineering Department, Power Development Department.
During 2016-17, the Government of India released Rs. 8,157.17 crore out of which Rs. 7,848.90 crore as Grants-in-Aid was routed through Reserve Bank of India to State Government for implementation of 67 Schemes (both State Plan and Central Plan). The State Government however, placed budgetary provision of only Rs. 6,488.07 crore under 22 schemes in approved Demand for Grants 2016-17.

srinagar, Dec 13: Government departments have initiated a process to implement at least seven acts of the erstwhile state laws with amendments in the new Union Territory.
At least 164 state laws have been repealed from November 1 when Jammu and Kashmir was officially declared a union territory.
With the abrogation of Article 370, 106 central laws have been implemented in Jammu and Kashmir.
At the same time, government departments are implementing seven erstwhile state laws with amendments in Jammu and Kashmir.
