Campaign to bulldoze houses of terrorists likely to be intensified | | |

Jammu, Dec 14: The campaign to bulldoze houses of the dreaded terrorists will continue in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir as part of the offensive against the anti-national elements.
On the one hand, the UT government is sealing houses for harbouring terrorists while on the other a fresh campaign has been initiated to demolish the houses of terrorists.
First-time, Jammu, and Kashmir on Saturday bulldozed the residence of the self-styled commander of the proscribed terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad Ashiq Nengroo in the Pulwama district of the Union Territory.
Sources said that demolishing of Nengroo's house was a just beginning of the campaign more terrorists are likely to face similar action.
“As many as 20 houses have already been identified for demolisition because these houses of terrorists are built on encroached government land”, sources said and added previous regime in the erstwhile state of J&K could not muster guts to retrive the encroached government land from the terrorists due to political compulision.

NEW DELHI, Dec 14: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has spent Rs 2,814 crore in the last three years on security-related expenditures on the police of Jammu & Kashmir.
Member of Parliament Rajmani Patel asked a question in Rajya Sabha whether it is a fact that a huge amount is spent on Jammu & Kashmir security every year and if so, what is the total amount spent on J-K security during the last three years, year-wise.

Srinagar, Dec 14: Srinagar witnesses seasons coldest night with temperature plummeting to minus 3.4 degree Celsius on Wednesday even as the Kashmir valley is in a grip of freezing temperature throwing the normal life out of gear.
The Meteorological Centre forecast is mainly clear with partly cloudy and dry weather to continue till December 21. There is no significant weather system till December 25.
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, experienced the season's coldest night with temperature dipped to minus 3.4 degree Celsius on Wednesday which was minus 2.4 degree Celsius below normal during this period of the season.

Srinagar, Dec 14: A government middle school building was damaged in a massive fire in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Wednesday, Fire and Emergency Service officials said.
He said a fire broke out in the school building comprising three rooms at Turkanaadi Turkpora village at 5:50 am damaging the structure besides furniture and office records in the incident.
Reportedly the fire fighting engines could not reach the spot as the distance from the district headquarters to the Turkpora village was far away.

Jammu, Dec 14: Army troops have rescued passengers stranded on Mughal road in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, an official said here on Wednesday.
He said that late night on Tuesday, Indian Army received a distress call from civil administration seeking assistance for rescue of stranded passengers on Mughal road.
