Govt’s big offensive against “job Mafia”, fourth list cancelled so far | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 16: After the cancellation of the Junior Legal Assistants’ recruitment exam, the Union Territory administration has given a message to the “job mafia” active in J&K.
Four lists have been cancelled so far by the authorities during the last four months.
During the last couple of months, Jammu and Kashmir government has cancelled three selection lists after inquiry panels detected irregularities and fraud in the recruitment process.
On August 28, the Jammu and Kashmir administration cancelled the recruitment process of Finance Accounts Assistants and Junior Engineers (Civil) and recommended a CBI probe into the selection process.
It assured all aspirants that those responsible for alleged discrepancies will not be spared and there won't be any compromise on merit.
Earlier, on July 22 the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has cancelled the written examination for the post of Police Sub-Inspector. The Jammu and Kashmir Government has already ordered a CBI probe into the Sub-Inspector recruitment scam.

2 youth found dead outside army camp in Rajouri | | |

Jammu, Dec 16: Two local youth were found dead mysteriously outside the army camp early morning on Friday along the Poonch-Rajouri highway in Rajouri district.
The incident however, triggered protest in the area.
"Two youth were found dead early this morning with bullet marks outside the Alpha Gate of army camp," said police.
The deceased were identified as Kamal Kumar and Surinder Kumar, both natives of Rajouri district.
Police however, also added that the facts are being ascertained.
Meanwhile protest rocked the area with locals demanding probe into the incident.

New Delhi, Dec 16: Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud on Friday said no Supreme Court bench will be available from December 17 till January 1 during the ensuing winter vacations.
The CJI's announcement made in the apex court assumes significance in the wake of Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju's statement in Rajya Sabha on Thursday in which he said there was a feeling among the people that long court vacations were not very convenient for justice seekers.
"There will be no benches available from tomorrow till January 1," Justice Chandrachud informed the lawyers present in the courtroom at the outset.

New Delhi, Dec 16: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair a meeting of the Eastern Zonal Council in Kolkata tomorrow where issues like security along the inter-state borders, smuggling along the India-Bangladesh border, and connectivity will be discussed, officials said.
The Eastern Zonal Council comprises West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha.
