Jammu, Dec 2: The Government today ordered transfer and postings of three IAS officers.Pandurang Kondbarao Pole, Secretary to the Government, Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, holding additional charge of Secretary to the Government, Department of Food, Civil, Supplies and Consumer Affairs, is transferred and posted as Secretary to the Government, Department of Food, Civil, Supplies and Consumer Affairs.
Simrandeep Singh Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, is transferred and posted as Special Secretary to the Government, Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction. He shall hold the charge of Administrative Secretary, Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction. He shall also hold the charge of Managing Director, J&K IT Infrastructure Company, in addition to his own duties, till further orders.

Jammu, Dec 1: With no let up in the alleged discrimination with Jammu region, in the latest New Delhi has allegedly blocked funds needed to complete construction of five polytechnic colleges in winter capital region -making the languishing projects get delayed for around five years.
Officials said in 2012, the then government had started establishment of as many as 18 polytechnic colleges in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The work on five of the colleges coming up in Jammu in the districts of Poonch, Doda, Kishtwar, Udhampur and Ramban has been pending for the non-availability of funds.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informed the Supreme Court that internet curbs in Kashmir are "must to fight the enemies within and the ones sitting across the Line of Control."

New Delhi, Dec 1: A new registration tag 'LA' has been assigned for vehicles to be registered in Ladakh, the government has said. Srinagar, Dec 1: The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited has engaged a Spanish Consultancy firm and an Indian private consultant to prepare a report for the construction of a tunnel on Mughal Road that connects Kashmir with the Jammu division. The tunnel is aimed at turning Mughal Road into an all-weather route and reduce the traffic pressure on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway.
The Mughal road, which connects Kashmir Valley with Poonch, through Shopian district was opened for light motor vehicles in 2009. It, however, operates only in the summer months.

Srinagar, Dec 1: Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai on Sunday asserted that positive changes have been seen in Jammu and Kashmir after the Central government abrogated Article 370 that gave special status to the erstwhile state.
The Minister said the move has crippled anti-national elements, who have been trying to create a violent atmosphere in the Kashmir Valley since then.
The Central government on August 5 nullified Article 370 of the Indian Constitution. The same day, the Centre decided to bifurcate Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories - Jammu and Kashmir with an Assembly, and Ladakh without one.
