LG exposes NC, PDP ‘white-lie’ on use of J&K’s power, water by other parts of county | | |

Jammu, Dec 1: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday exposed Kashmir-centric parties, especially the National Conference and Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) for instigating people in the name of natural resources and power projects in the Union Territory.
Without naming any political party, the Lieutenant Governor said that some people are raising the “hue and cry” over the natural resources of J&K.
“Some people are trying to create a misconception that other parts of the country are using the power and water of Jammu and Kashmir but the reality is that we can not have more than two hours of power daily if not supplied from outside”, he said and lambasted those who are trying to create a false impression that other parts of the country are using J&K’s water and power.
The Lieutenant Governor said that J&K is capable of generating only 225 megawatts of power throughout the year despite having a capacity of producing over 3450 megawatts of power through its natural resources.
