Omar meets Shah, discusses J&K statehood, other issues | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 19: After his two back-to-back statements against the Congress on the leadership of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc and Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
“Two months after the formation of a popular government in Jammu and Kashmir, I met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and shared the experience of running the government”, Omar said and added that the meeting was held in a very cordial atmosphere and on a positive note.
“Achievements and problems being faced by the government were shared with the Home Minister”, the Chief Minister said and exuded confidence that steps will be taken for the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Home Minister reviews J&K security situation | | | NEW DELHI, Dec 19:

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the first such meeting on the Union territory since the assembly elections were held there during September-October, sources said. J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and top officers of the Army, paramilitary forces, J&K administration, intelligence agencies and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) attended the meeting.
This was Shah’s first meeting to review the security situation in the Union territory after the recent assembly elections that brought to power a National Conference government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Jammu, Dec 19: As many as 2,72, 555 end-of-life vehicles are running in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Jairam Gadkari said that as per the Motor Vehicles (Registration and Functions of Vehicle Scrapping Facility) Rules, 2021, and the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, the End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs) means all vehicles which are no longer validly registered or declared unfit through Automated Fitness Centres or their registrations have been cancelled under Chapter IV of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
