Geelani's house among 3 JeI properties to be sealed in Srinagar | | |

Srinagar, Dec 20: Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered sealing of three properties of banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), including a residential proprietary land in the name of now dead separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani.
The orders for the sealing have been issued by the district magistrate (DM) Srinagar following the investigation by the State Investigation Agency (SIA), Kashmir in a case U/S 10, 11 & 13 of police station Batamaloo.
The DM Srinagar in its order had stated that the Government of India, in exercise of the powers vested in it under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 has declared the Jamaat, Jammu & Kashmir as an unlawful association.

Security Forces avenge Puran Bhat’s killing by eliminating 3 LeT terrorists | | |

Jammu, Dec 20: In a big success, security forces eliminated three terrorists of the proscribed Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit in an encounter in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday morning.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar said two of the three slain terrorists have been identified and were involved in civilian killings.
He said one of the killed terrorists was Lateef Lone, who was involved in the killing of Kashmiri Pandit Puran Krishan Bhat, while the other terrorist was identified as Umer Nazir, who was involved in the killing of Till Bahadur Thapa of Nepal.
