Azad exposes J&K Govt, says Maharaja regime was much better than present bureaucratic rule
Maharaja Hari Singh had protected land, job rights of J&K residents
12/25/2021 11:28:55 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 25: After getting authentic feedback from people at the village level during his ongoing mass-contact programme, former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Saturday termed the present bureaucratic regime worst than the earlier autocratic rule in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. Azad observed that the system has been completely collapsed in J&K and people of the UT are heading towards poverty, unemployment and frustration. “There has been a slump in business and developmental activities in Jammu and Kashmir and people are heading towards poverty”, he said. In a veiled attack at the BJP, Azad said the autocratic rule of the maharajas was far better than the current dispensation, which stopped the traditional practice of the biannual “Darbar Move” “I was always supportive of the Darbar Move. The Maharajas gave us three things which were in the interest of the public of both Kashmir and Jammu regions, and one of them was the Darbar Move,” Azad told reporters here. He said the Maharaja Hari Singh had ensured the protection of land and jobs f...

Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 25: Former J&K Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad by stating that Maharaja’s rule was much better than the present regime has endorsed the view of local BJP workers and the leaders. The BJP leaders in Jammu and Kashmir regions have staged protests against bureaucrats not being accessible and paying no attention towards their demands. In fact a few leaders have gone on record to say that “they were not being heard,” and their suggestions were being ignored. When the 179-year old Darbar Move practice was scrapped by the present regime, the BJP leaders had claimed that they were not taken on board and the decision was taken unilaterally.
