SRINAGAR, Dec 28: Jammu and Kashmir administration has taken on government employees, warning them of strict action over “dereliction” of duties.
Sources said government has received complaints that officials in departments are showing “callousness” in fulfilling their duties.
“Many officials especially in Rural Development Department, Roads and Buildings, Schools Education and Health are coming to directorate offices from subordinate offices without proper permission. Their callousness is leading to poor working in their respective departments and grievances of people remain unaddressed,” an official of General Administration Department said.

Jammu, Dec 28: Soon the Central Right to Information Act will be implemented in the Union Territory of J&K, as number of seconds appeal under the erstwhile J&K RTI Act 2009 was increasing with each passing day after State Information Commission on 24th October 2019. A high-level committee constituted by the government has submitted its report and most likely the Central RTI Act will implement in the first of week January, as New Year gift for RTI activists.

Jammu Dec 28: 2008 Kashmir Police Service (KPS) batch officers have alleged gross discrimination in terms of promotions to their counterpart Kashmir Administrative Officer (KAS) colleagues.
Earlier batches of KPS were also promoted within few years and to mention that the 1999 batch KPS officers were promoted in just 5 to 6 years of service while as 2004 batch officers were promoted within 10 years of service.
Speaking to Early Times, the aggrieved officers said that ever since their appointment in March 2008, they are working in the same rank,which has demoralising effect not only on the officers but also on their families.

Jammu, Dec 28: Quoting opinion of law department related to issues of forest land, the DFO Poonch has sought revocation of status-quo ordered by the office of Additional Commissioner, Jammu to further lead the evection process initiated by the latter.
According documents available with Early Times the DFO Poonch vide letter no DFO/PFD/1982-86 dated 24/12/2019 said, “Since your court has neither jurisdiction in the matter of forest department nor direction/order of revenue court is binding on forest department, therefore direction is not binding on forest department it is requested to dispose off the case immediately against forest department.”

POONCH, Dec 28: Despite huge flow of funds for the establishment of Information Communication Technology (ICT) Labs in Poonch district, Education department has failed to utilize the labs for compute base learning. Over 120 ICT labs are either locked or gathering dust due to non serious approach of the department to compel head of the Schools to use labs for the teaching purposes.
Sources in the Education department revealed that Only Poonch Zone has over 37 ICT Labs and over Rs 10 Lakhs have been spent on each labs in Poonch over but all are gathering dust, as no strict directions have been issued to the head masters.
