Jammu, Dec 2: The Economic Offences Wing – Crime Branch Jammu (EOW-CBJ) has filed a comprehensive 253-page charge-sheet against three siblings in the Court of law for their alleged involvement in a Rs 43 lakh land fraud case. The case, registered under FIR No. 16/2019 U/S 420, 120-B/IPC P/S Crime Branch Jammu, accuses the individuals of hatching a criminal conspiracy and deceiving the complainant by revoking a sale deal for a 51 Marla piece of land at Birpur Bari Brahmana, Samba.

New Delhi, Dec 2: Chief Justice of India (CJI) D Y Chandrachud on Saturday said the state must side with the weaker population, which may be a numerical or a social minority so that all citizens feel free in a democracy.
Speaking at Justice Keshav Chandra Dhulia Memorial Essay Competition here, the CJI said the majority will have its way in a democracy, but the minority must have its say. He said democracy must engage with all its stakeholders in order to be more than a mere approximation of majoritarian preferences.

Srinagar, Dec 2: The minimum temperature rose and stayed above the freezing point at most places in Kashmir owing to a cloud cover as the weather is expected to remain dry over the next week, officials said here on Saturday.
The night temperature rose at several places in the Valley with Gulmarg and Pahalgam being the only weather stations where the mercury settled below the freezing point on Friday night, they said.
The minimum temperature in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, was 4.8 degrees Celsius, marginally up from the previous night’s 4.5 degrees Celsius, the officials said.
