Srinagar, Dec 2: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Monday reiterated his call asking Kashmiri Pandits to return to the Valley.
Talking to reporters here, Dr Farooq said, “Who is stopping Kashmiri Pandits from coming back? Every political party has said they should return. It is their decision when they want to return. Our hearts are open for them.”
The NC president, who recently returned to Kashmir after performing Umrah, said that even when he was the chief minister and the situation was bad, he tried his best to bring the Kashmir Pandits back.
Its in place to mention here that Kashmir Pandits had fled the Valley in 1990 when the Pakistan sponsored terrorism broke out.
Terrorists at the behest of the neighbouring country carried out selective killings of KPs and indulged in other human rights violations forcing the members of the minority community to leave everything behind and run away to save their lives.
