Delimitation may take 10 more months to get completed | Jammu set to get equal share, hegemony of Kashmir centric leaders to end | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 29: Speculations are rife that the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir can get delayed by one more year as delimitation process has not been completed yet.
According to the media reports the delimitation exercise aimed at redrawing the boundaries of the assembly and parliamentary constituencies can take time to get completed.
The delimitation commission, which was constituted in March this year, is mandated to fix boundaries of 90 Assembly segments and reserve seats for Schedule Castes (SC) and Schedule Tribes (ST).

“It probably would take over ten months more to fix the boundaries of assembly segments in J&K as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has badly affected the process for a long time and halted the work over it,” the media reports stated.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “Whenever assembly elections are held in J&K, both Jammu and Kashmir regions will have equal stakes. There is every possibilit... | |
